Why is it called Rhode Island when it’s not an island?
There are many theories which tell how Rhode Island got its name. But, most acceptable one is that In 1524, Giovanni da Verrazzano, an Italian explorer recognized the existence of an island close to the crevice of Narragansett Bay, which he pointed out to resemble the Island of Rhodes which is a part of modern day Greece and that is how got its Rhode Island tag.
Little Compton Beaches
Little Compton hosts many small beaches. South Shore Beach of Little Compton is popular among all. Though it is not the best beach in the R.I., still the scenic beauty is appreciable. Goosewing beach is where you want to go, this beach is less crowded. Goosewing is also full of sands and pebbles. You will find many RV’s occupying the shore of South Shore. In Second Beach or Sachuest Beach you will find many sea birds.
Narragansett Beach is classic saltwater beach in New England, Rhode Island. The beach is easy accessible by public transport and one of the cleanest beach in Rhode Island. The beach authority charge $10 as entry fee for adults. Children below 11 years are exempted from entry fee. Narragansett also has good parking facility. This beach is big and offers a lot of sports like surfing, boarding, volleyball.

Warren is a small town located near to Bristol. Warren is connected with two main streets, water street and main street.
